Costa Rica Day 8 Thursday
Hello all!
Today is our last full day in Costa Rica. It has flown by. Today was a wonderful day of fellowship, fun, and adventure. We were able to sleep in a bit and enjoy the morning as the bus did not pick us up until 9 a.m.! Along with Jay and Nancy and Tim and Amanda, we drove to La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park and Wildlife Refuge. It was a paradise of tropical flowers and foliage connected with beautiful ´brick´ walkways. We strolled along viewing the gorgeous surroundings on our way to the waterfall. There were many steps and stairs going down to the base of the waterfall. At one point, we were able to practically stand underneath it. There was a mist similar to the one at Niagara Falls. We took many photo ops so you will be blessed to see them. For most of the time we were in the Rainforest or Cloud, with a light mist at all times. No wonder the foliage is so large and so beautiful. We also visited a butterfly observatory which is the largest in the world, span
ning the length of a regulation NFL football field, and reaching a height of 50 feet. We also visited a hummingbird garden filled with the feeders and the birds just fly all around our heads as we stood there.
Then we enjoyed a buffet lunch with tomatoes that would make our beefsteaks look like cherry tomatoes, along with other salad fixings, tortillas, beef chunks in a sauce, chayote, potatoes, black beans, some kind of stuffing, and papaya chunks for dessert. We all enjoyed the southern style sweet iced tea. We then boarded the bus for our ride back to town. Some of us took a siesta on the trip. We passed huge coffee plantations, but the beans had just been picked. We also saw huge greenhouses sprawling across the hillside that were growing flowers to export.
We stopped at some shops where the local artisans sold their wares. We got goodies for our loved ones and friends. Thank goodness they only allowed us 45 minutes!
Thank you again for all of your prayers and support. We will be praying for Sarah as we received the news that she is back on the ventilator.
We look forward to seeing you at the airport, church, or home when we return. Please continue to pray, especially for a safe and smooth trip home.
God bless!
´david´
