Costa Rica News of the Day: Dave Metcalfe

(i am not using capitals as i am working on a spanish
keyboard and it takes too long--sorry

God bless george miles!! he had the bus running and
warm when we all arrived at 3:30 in the pitch black
cold morning. everyone was in wonderful spirits--or
maybe they were just half asleep. even charlie and
wayne were already cracking jokes! both flights to
washington\dulles and san jose went smoothly. we even
sailed through customs with all those heavy totes.
nancy and jay met us as soon as we departed the
airport, amidst all the soliciters vying for our
businness to ride their taxi, stay at their hotel,
etc. the guys piled all the luggage and those very
heavy totes on top of the van! Kim, karen, and kathy
wanted to ride up there, but decided otherwise. we
set off for our accomodations scurrying along very
narrow 6 lanes of highway. all was well until the
driver just stopped the van, got out of the vehicle,
and climbed up to the roof. we all just looked at
each other as if --what just happened? and whose
luggage is strewn along the highway?
well, thankfully all was well and the driver never
said a word about what he did and we didn´t dare ask.
after checking into our rooms, we met Jay and Nancy
for a lucious dinner and then a short meeting
informing us all the projects that need to be done,
ie., dry wall, brick, and paint the library; dry wall
and paint at least one apartment, and finally clean
out and then finish storage room. and of course kathy
is going to finish off some of the projects with
curtains. well, we will be ´¨at it¨¨ very early
tomorrow morning---until tomorrow,
your devoted costa rican missionaries
